Biographie de Avantasia
Avantasia est un projet de metal mélodique créé en 2000 en Allemagne.
Durant l'été 1999, Tobias Sammet du groupe allemand Edguy a commencé à écrire son idée d'un album conçu avec beaucoup de musiciens connus. Il fait appel à des chanteurs tels que Michael Kiske, Andre Matos, Kai Hansen, Rob Rock, David Defeis, Sharon den Adel, Bob Catley et Oliver Hartmann. Le projet est enregistré avec une bande de quatre musiciens dont Sammet au claviers et orchestrations, Henjo Richter à la guitare, Markus Grosskopf à la basse et Alex Holzwarth à la batterie.
Leur premier album 'The Metal Operas' est sorti en 1999.
En 2011, Tobias a annoncé la fin du projet à la télévision.
