Explications :
Ce morceau est un extrait d'un chant de guerre sarcastique écrit par des soldats britanniques lors de la Première Guerre Mondiale. La chanson relate avec sarcasme l'emplacement de divers officiers profitant de leurs situations privilégiées alors que les soldats sur le terrain restent accrochés sur des clôtures de barbelés, devenant ainsi des cibles faciles pour l'ennemi. Ce chant de troupe était impopulaire auprès des officiers, qui le jugeaient néfaste pour le moral, et donc tentèrent de le faire disparaître mais sans succès.
