Explications :
Ce morceau concerne Hannibal Barca, il fut un célèbre général carthaginois, connu pour avoir été l’un des plus redoutables ennemis de la Rome antique. Fils d’Hamilcar Barca, héros de la première guerre punique, Hannibal grandit dans une culture de haine envers Rome. Il est surtout célèbre pour sa campagne audacieuse lors de la deuxième guerre punique (218–201 av. n. è.), lorsqu’il mena ses troupes, y compris des éléphants de guerre, à travers les Pyrénées et les Alpes pour envahir l’Italie.

Parmi ses plus grands exploits figure la bataille de Cannes (216 av. n. è.), où il infligea une défaite écrasante aux légions romaines. Malgré de nombreuses victoires, Hannibal ne parvint jamais à prendre Rome. Il fut finalement rappelé à Carthage pour défendre sa patrie contre Scipion l'Africain, qui le vainquit à la bataille de Zama (202 av. n. è.).

Après la guerre, Hannibal entra en politique à Carthage, mais dut s’exiler à cause des pressions romaines. Il trouva refuge auprès de différents souverains orientaux avant de se donner la mort pour échapper à la capture par les Romains.
