Biographie de Sonata Arctica

Sonata Arctica est un groupe de power métal formé en 1995 à Kemi, Finlande.
Il est fondé par Marko Paasikoski, Jani Liimatainen et Tommy Portimo et se nomme tout d'abord Tricky Beans. Tony Kakko et Pentti Peura le rejoignent début 1996. En 1997, ils changent de nom pour Tricky Means puis Sonata Arctica en 99.
Leur premier album 'Ecliptica' est sorti en 1999.
Depuis le groupe est composé de Tommy Portimo (batterie), Tony Kakko (chant depuis 1996 et clavier depuis 2007), Henrik Klingenberg (clavier-keytar-chœurs depuis 2002), Elias Viljanen (guitare-chœurs depuis 2007) et Pasi Kauppinen (basse depuis 2013).
